Third Week
Another “regular week”, with the usual routine. Slow-ish mornings, working (me here, Bob to the studio). Punctuated by lovely walkabouts every day, lunches out some days. Monday we met Nina at a restaurant in Gràcia for lunch. Another day we went to a charming and tasty restaurant just around the corner from us. And, delicious morsels picked up from markets and eaten at home.
Visit to the Maritime Museum
On Sundays after 3pm, this museum is open free to the public. We’d never been through the whole place— only once to the exhibition space to see an Escher exhibit in 2021. We had a free Sunday, so it was on our schedule. A remarkable place— a must see! The old shipyards building transformed into a soaring space. The history of maritime dominance of Spain, and the exhibits on display— fascinating!
The University of Barcelona
We walk by this impressive building often, and recently Roser mentioned to Bob there are lovely gardens on the grounds. It’s very near to where we’re staying this time, so we took a stroll after a pizza lunch one day to check it out.
Next Up…
Off to Logroño for our five day “holiday.” We’re going to the Fiestas de San Mateo— harvest festival!
