Our Barcelona Apartment
Starting 2024 in Barcelona! We’re 3 weeks in to our month stay here over the holidays. The location of our apartment is turning out as great as we’d hoped it would be. 8 minute walking distance for Bob to Roser’s studio, about that or less to the closest Metro station, on Diagonal. The Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia is just 2 blocks up our street. Vibrant life is all around us!
The weather has been unseasonably warm for here, we understand. It’s cool, but I guess winter in Barcelona can get a bit colder than this. People are pretty bundled up all the time, and don’t shy away from sitting outside at cafés. Bob and I aren’t interested in eating outdoors in this season, even though we are used to colder weather at home. Except the day Nina and Robert had us over for lunch. Their patio is just fantastic for outdoor meals, and that day it was particularly warm. We are so fortunate to have these friends in Barcelona!
A crummy thing both of us were dealing with was having caught colds. Bob came down with it only three days after we’d arrived. I was hoping I’d not catch it, but five days later, it got me too. Neither of us have been sick like this since before the pandemic. We did have our stint with mild cases of Covid in 2022, but this stupid cold virus is lasting too long! It’s not stopping us from enjoying, but it’s darn annoying!
