Getting Ready

Two days before we’re gone for six weeks, we had to wind up the Cascade berries and get the automated water going! Thank goodness the sun came out. It was 36º!

Just about ready for our next adventure! This time we will be going just to Spain. Our “second home” anchor is Barcelona (but you knew that, right?!) Two weeks, then we’ll go to Madrid for a week. We haven’t been there since 2014, so there is so much more to see! Plus we will be joined by our friends John and Jeri again this year. With them we’ll travel to Cuenca for three nights, then on to Valencia. After one week there, we say goodbye to J&J and head back to Barcelona for the last two weeks

We’re excited to do our first home exchange for those last two weeks. We secured a comfortable-looking apartment in the Gràcia neighborhood— our favorite! Lately it has also become a trendy and popular area for tourists, so the prices have gone up. We haven’t stayed in the heart of the neighborhood for several years because of that. Which turns out fine, as we’re becoming more familiar with adjacent neighborhoods. Since the city is so dense and really not that expansive, walking between our core neighborhoods is never longer than 30 minutes. Beyond that, the Metro is awesome and links everything.
